High Trees

Meeting everyone as a person of great potential.

High Trees

High Trees, based in Tulse Hill, was set up by local residents 24 years ago.  Today High Trees is a well-regarded and trusted community organisation in Lambeth, delivering and leading on a range of integrated services to connect people and communities to strengthen skills and build stronger voices.

Rooted in the local community, and guided by community need, their services are delivered in 4 key areas:

Community Education & Training: Specialising in delivering basic skills training to provide individuals with the skills they need for work and life, including ESOL, functional skills, ICT and vocational courses

Employment & Career Support: providing person-centred employment support for long-term unemployed individuals and those stuck in low-paid work, to improve their economic position through sustainable employment opportunities and career progression

Children, Young People & Family Services: working on the basis of early intervention and delivering a range of services focused on play, study and social action aimed at improving the aspirations and well-being of children and young people, and strengthen families.  This includes running the Tulse Hill Adventure Playground and working in local schools.

Community Action: Working to support residents from Tulse Hill and neighbouring areas to build more active, represented and civically engaged communities. This work includes providing mentoring, practical support and accredited training in Community Organising to local residents and groups.

Partnerships and collaboration are central to High Trees’ work and alongside being members of Lambeth Hubs they are also the lead partner in the Building Young Brixton partnership and the Place for All Partnership.
